Zemeckis Teases New Roger Rabbit
Robert Zemeckis is one cool cat.
Check this out. In passing, Z-Man drops a megaton on MTV like it's no big deal: he very nonchalantly says that he's "thinking" of a making a new Roger Rabbit. When asked if he would be using the classic methods in regards to animation, he teases that it will be a blend of old and new school tech.
Let's make sure that this is entirely clear. Zemeckis is obsessed with performance capture and 3D (Polar Express, Beowulf), so you can bet your bottom dollar that this movie will be made on computers. The question is, will we see any hand-crafted frames in the movie, or will all the toons be 3D models shaded to look like classic cel animated characters?
NOTE: Image used is not a production still. It was created by amazing graphic artist Pixeloo.
